What To Do When You Have An Umbrella Loss
Reporting
Any liability claim which may pierce the Umbrella layer should be
reported. In addition, the following types of losses must be reported
immediately to the umbrella carrier:
- Any fall from an elevated workplace (ladders, balconies,
platforms, etc.) regardless of the severity of injury
- New York Labor Law claims/lawsuits
- Fatalities - regardless of cause
- Closed head injuries (brain damage) regardless of severity
- Burns (2nd and 3rd degree)
- Amputations - any/all
- Multiple fractures - any/all
- Spinal cord injuries or paralysis
- Any permanent disabilities
- Sexual molestation/rape - actual or alleged
- Class Action lawsuits
Prompt reporting of all known or potential exposures is critical
to avoid jeopardizing your coverage.
