What To Do When You Have A Property Claim
Losses Below the Deductible – Losses that are
obviously below the deductible should be handled as any other repair
with the following exception: if there is any question as to the
scope and amount of damage, we recommend the loss be reported immediately.
This will protect you from a “late notice”, situation and give you
access to professional advice and direction. Prompt reporting also
expedites the response by the insurance carrier should a claim be
made.
Losses Exceeding the Deductible – Should be reported
by phone immediately. We will arrange for expedited handling by
the carrier or TPA.
Water Losses – All water losses must be handled
quickly utilizing appropriate repair techniques to eliminate or
prevent mold. This is important regardless of whether the loss is
covered by your policy or below your deductible. Mold has become
a potentially dangerous phenomenon that must be given priority.
Please refer to the Water/Mold
Loss Protocol for recommended handling.
Reporting Losses After Normal Business Hours
For losses that occur after normal business hours, over a weekend,
or on a holiday, you should take reasonable and necessary steps
to protect the property from further damage, and obtain detailed
invoices for any and all emergency work performed.
Claims should be reported using a standard Property
Loss Notice.
Report the loss at the first opportunity the following business
day to:
